Communication in Focus

We write e-mails in English. We write reports. We write sophisticated essays to our teachers. We might even drop text messages to our friends in English. We read hotel information, contracts, books, subtitles, lyrics in English. But... when do we speak English? When is the time that we actually use our highly elaborate vocabulary? Do we go to pubs to talk to waiters? Do we attack unsuspecting tourist in order to give them some perhaps unneeded help? Or, do we at times talk to our reflections in the mirror that unfortunately never replies? Well, in my opinion practising oral communication in a foreign language is one of the hardest tasks of a language learner.

We may travel abroad and for some lovely days may pretend to be native speakers. However, once holidays are over, and we are back in our hometowns again, the problem of not having anyone with whom we could speak in English reappears. So, is there anything to do?

We at myTranslator firmly believe in the importance of communication and place emphasis on activating our students' passive vocabulary by making debates, presentations, discussing current affairs, or other important topics. Our aim is to have the students use the given language as much as they can.
